where is your "change"?

Does anyone else think it is ironic that the protestors at the Climate conclave (which are protesting the slow-ness of us "doing" anything) are turning a short car ride into a "2 train, bus, 1 mile walk" adventure for anyone that is to attend?

I for one will stay home with my car parked so as not to use gas and enjoy my new insulated windows. TYVM.

Since when did my standard 15 gallon kitchen trash can shrink to the now standard 13 gallon bags?

So not amused

Elizabethian Gown for sale on Ebay!!

Cross post at will - I know the maker and the dress is currently in my possession.

I am selling off one of my fancier Elizabethan gowns (actually it's Italian, but contemporaneous) AND the undergarments and accoutrements - smock, drawers, stays, farthingale, partlet, ruffs, and snood. Everything but shoes and stockings. Hunter green robe over a cream colored under gown with lots of gold trim. Made for a smallish lady, roughly a size 8-10. Smaller than I am now, which is one reason I've put it on the market.

It's up for auction on eBay: http://tinyurl.com/Gown-for-sale
(Item #290348400953) I've got it up for a long time, 10 days, to allow plenty of time for people to become aware that it's up there.

Lots more description behind the cut.Collapse )

Lady Margaret Cochrane (embroidered spikes)
Lord Lukas Briarly (embroidery)
        For their beautiful work on the embroidered silk velvet cuffs for both of their Majesties;
Baroness Janina Krakowska of Storvik (embroidery)
Lady Tirzah MacCrudden (completion)

For their stunning work on the silk taffeta belt

I also need to thank Lady Maria Beatriz la Mora CoP aka Khalillah aka Bambi  for all her work pearling and pearlingand pearling His Majesty's shuba (the dark blue tunic) and Her Majesty's Sarafan (the dress)

I need to thank Posadnitsa Sfandra Dmitrieva Chernigova from the East for their research and assistance to an unknown Atlantian at Pennsic in downloading russian research and Lady Christiana Chaikinaia of Lochmere for allowing me to double check my research with her over the phone.

I'd also like to thank those that lended unnoticed assistance in personal support, namely my lord, Lord Aramon de Contigy - he put up with way too many late nights of sewing and then took a day off of work to tag along :)

Now I can sleep!
