Out with the Old...In with the new...
Well...that was fun.
Got the work computer on Wednesday, packed up my office and went home. Hubby had a dentist appt and then finished clearing out the upstairs and did more packing before helping set up for the New Years Party at the Annapolis House.
Party was fun, if much more low key than previous years. Not so much drunken debachury this time :P
New years day we got the trailer, loaded everything up and got in the van at 2pm to start the drive.

Well f**k.
Van will not start. Much fast thinking ensues. Result is to call Uhaul, get a 10' truck & an auto transport and swap the trailer.
Called
troyfish for help. He called in the troops. We had the stuff transfered from the full 5x8 trailer to the truck in about 20 minutes. Van started when jumped, but we didn't want to risk it not starting again, so it got loaded up on the transport and we drove down, starting at 4:30. Keep in mind we are running on about 4-5 hrs of sleep.
My job was to keep hubby awake. 1 "boost-a-chino" later I was a chatter box - kept him going as best as I could. He just kept driving.
We got to Raleigh around 10pm, grabbed a couple of bags and a couple houseplants and got up to the apartment. Hubby crashed (as he should have). I downloaded a bit to the Grands that had been watching the kids and the dog for a few days while we did this. Sleep.
Of course children don't sleep in when you want them to. 7:30 we are up and going. More unloading. Van starts to get it off the transport. Won't start w/o jumping after that. Jump it and off we go to Auto Zone. Test the Alternator and the battery (keep in mind the battery is only 3 yrs old). Battery is dead.
Sigh.
Oh well. We got he safe and in one piece. That is what was important.
More unloading. Storage is full. Not really able to access much of anything. I'll sew what I can, but no new stock getting made. Patterns are all in storage. Still organizing boxes at the apartment. Haven't begun to put away my clothes.
As hard as it is to move, at least I got to come to an established apartment. The bed was already made and I could sleep in a real bed when we got there. That's a huge thing.
I'll be working 5 hours a day from home. It will be scattered throughout the day, but I'll get it in. J starts school Monday and I'll be able to walk her to school and pick her up at the end of the day. That will be good for her.
My goal over the next month is to not buy groceries. We have WAY too much food in the apartment. I think there were 8 boxes of foodstuffs. Must reduce that number. It means we are going to have to eat things we don't "want" to, but I'd rather do that then move it again.
Gonna be a fun fun week.

Glad you made it there in one piece. Sorry to see you go, but I suppose that is what the internet is for. :)
